Glen Kaufman's work is about place. His photo images on woven silk is an effort to achieve a synthesis between Japan, where he has spent half his time for more than 20 years, and Athens Georgia where he teaches.


Japanese artist Hisako Sekijima, by contrast, is preoccupied with space – revealing not just to the dynamics of each component of her structures, but also the spaces and holes where real material is not present
